To celebrate the end of Summer, and a magnificent glut of tomatoes - we partnered with Open House Festival to open up Deptford Little Farm to the public for the very first time. The farm is absolutely bursting with life right now. At the end of the summer, the harvest tips over from bounty into glut and produce, greenery and insect life explodes. The last hurrah before the calm of autumn steps in. So, why not make the most of it?
Guided by our very own Head Chef Peter Weeden, from The Duke Organic, we were joined by a lovely bunch of nature enthusiasts who helped us taste test our varieties of tomato growing in our Dutch-style greenhouse. From Midnight Roma to Black Cherry, we picked and sampled every one, lovingly prepared by Peter and served on fresh baguette charred on an open fire.
It’s such a pleasure to welcome members of the community into the farm, and is a wonderful reminder that nothing is better than food and memories shared by connecting in real life - no screens please!
