THE CULPEPER FAMILY

We show up with character, passion, energy and knowledge.
We care about the importance of sourcing, from bricks to blackcurrants to brioches.
We focus on seasonality, quality ingredients, high standards of animal welfare and responsible sourcing.
We prioritise kindness and believe in hospitality as a force for good.
We have a deep respect of Nature, as a source for inspiration and for our actions.
We see design as a living thing where stories start and evolve into places unknown.
We design with optimism and imagination - to make spaces with soul that we all want to exist in.

"In the last 11 years, TCF has grown and evolved into something we’re incredibly proud of. Achieving our B-Corp certification across four sites this year is the perfect way to set the tone for the next chapter of our journey"

— Nico Treguer

Our story began in 2014 with the transformation of the then Princess Alice into The Culpeper, and in the following 10 years the family has expanded to four pubs and a farm. The result is five unique places that allow us the space to bring our manifesto to life, and contribute to London’s thriving hospitality landscape.

The opening of The Culpeper marked the first shared project of our founders, showcasing our early manifesto in action. A historic, unique building was reborn with a focus on natural materials, narrative-driven design, and impeccable quality.
Since then, The Duke Organic, The Buxton, and The Green Clerkenwell have joined our family, each lovingly restored and brought to life by a passionate team.

Our namesake is Nicholas Culpeper, a 17th-century herbalist and physician who lived in Spitalfields.

His mission was to make medicine accessible to all, empowering communities to use local herbs, treat common illnesses, and practice preventive care, leaving a lasting legacy in grassroots healthcare.

His work inspires both our name and our ethos, driving our commitment to creating a positive impact on the planet and its people.
